CINAR technologies ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website or use the Dirim mobile application (the "App").

Our Privacy-First Commitment

Dirim is built on a "Local-First" architecture. This means that your personal data, including your dream journals, audio recordings, and sleep patterns, is stored locally on your device using an encrypted database (WatermelonDB/SQLite). We do not have access to your private dream logs.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is created by you and stored exclusively on your device. We do not transmit this data to our servers:

  • Journal Entries: Text and audio recordings of your dreams.
  • Sleep Data: Sensor data (accelerometer/microphone) used for sleep tracking.
  • AI Analysis: Patterns and interpretations generated by our On-Device AI.

Data Collected for Functionality (Third-Party Services)

While we do not store your personal data, we use trusted third-party services to operate the App. These services may collect limited data:

  • RevenueCat: Used to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. They process purchase receipts to validate your "Premium" status. They do not have access to your journal content.
  • Google Play Services / Apple App Store: To process payments and provide crash reporting.

How We Use Your Information

Since your sensitive data resides on your device, our use of information is strictly limited to:

  • App Functionality: To provide the features of the App, such as recording dreams and analyzing sleep.
  • On-Device Processing: We use algorithms that run locally on your phone to analyze your sentiment and sleep stages. This data never leaves your phone.

Cloud Backup (Optional)

Dirim offers an optional Cloud Backup feature. If you choose to enable this:

  • Your data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account.
  • CINAR technologies does not have the keys to decrypt this data. It is a direct link between your device and your personal cloud storage.

Device Permissions

The App may request access to certain device features:

Microphone: Required for the "Sleep Tracking" (snore detection) and "Audio Journal" features. Audio is processed in real-time and is not uploaded to any server.

Notifications: Used for "Reality Checks" and "Alarm" features.

FaceID / TouchID: Used solely to unlock the App's "Privacy Lock" feature. We do not store your biometric data.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
